went to din tai fung yesterday (the myeongdong branch), because the japs wanted to eat xiaolongbaos.
i must say, the seoul restaurant has a much more classy ambience
than the ones in singapore. haven’t been to the taipei restaurant though; was put
off by the super long queue when we passed by it in taipei.
we were there at lunchtime on a weekday and the crowd consisted of mainly high-heeled
executives – i think we were the only students there. oh and the place was full.
and from a few tables away drifted the voices of a man speaking in a familiar accent -
the singaporean accent.
there was a kimchi and pork xiaolongbao on the menu but it was like SGD8 more than
the normal xiaolongbao so we skipped that and ordered the normal one (which cost
about SGD17 for 10).
’twas a good, but expensive, lunch. ^^
i took it in seoul…. near 경복궁역?
